I have Thomas Boyd (b. ca. 1715 supposedly Armagh in Ulster. His son Major James Boyd b. 1743 m. in Feb. 1774, Nancy Brown b. 1753. All Pennsylvania. James and Nancy had daughter Mary Boyd b. 1776 in Philadelphia who m. John Donnel(l) b. ca. 1774. Mary and John had son John C. Donnel(l) I find lately that John C. is John Cummins Donnel. (m. Nancy McRoberts) I have not been able to find why they named his 2n name Cummins., so this post about Boyd/ Cummins is of interest to me. I wonder, is there any tie into my Boyd family???????
