>From the posting of Kim Boyd of 22 December 2010 the website gives us this information "James Mitchell Boyd is a native of Allegheny county, Pennsylvania. He was born eighteen miles north of Pittsburg, February 12, 1828. He is of Scotch, Irish and Holland ancestry. Robert Boyd, the grand-father on the father's side, emigrated from Ireland about 1785 when but 17 years of age. He first settled in Philadelphia, but afterwards removed to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer and Magistrate. He married Nancy Namdyne, a native of Delaware, a decedent of the earliest Holland emigrants to that State. They has a family of thirteen children. He served on the staff of Gen. Crooks as Judge Advocate in the war of 1812. He died during the late rebellion at a very advanced age." The website tells us that James Mitchell Boyd was the one of James Boyd, one of the 13 children of Robert and Nancy but not what his order of birth was in this family. Does anyone on this list belong to this family and can they provide any extra details about its descendants. What details I do have, I will turn into family chapter 25/1261 in Volume 25 of "Clan Boyd of Scotland" (for Boyd families in PA) Thank you Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS
