Who is Baillie Boyd of Irvine in 1691? In the book The Hearth Tax for Ayrshire 1691, Ayrshire Records Series Volume 1, ed Robert Urquhart & Rob Close, 1998, there are a number of Boyds listed in Irvine. One of these is just termed "Ballie Boyd (6)”. Where the (6) stands for 6 Hearths. Unfortunately, this book does not say what this “Baillie Boyd’s” first name is. Does anyone know what that might have been? And does anyone belong to this Boyd family of Irvine or have any details on this Boyd family? Thank you Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS
