    3. John Boyd (1705-1750) of Sadsbury, PA, son Robert Boyd’s family – Where did they go? The first child and son of John Boyd (1705-1750) of Sadsbury Township, who is buried in the Upper Octorara, Cemetery PA, was named Robert Boyd – we assume after this grandfather. This John Boyd is thought to have arrived in Sadsbury Township with his parents and siblings in about 1726. So we are not sure if he married in Ireland – most likely County Antrim – or if he married in Pennsylvania in the late 1720’s! However, there is no known date for the birth of this son, Robert Boyd. It is assumed that he was born about 1730 and most likely married about the mid 1750’s at the Presbyterian Church at Upper Octorara, Chester Co., PA. Robert and his wife had seven known children – Lettice, John, Sarah (Sally), Catherine, Frances, Mary (Polly) and William G Boyd. These children would have been born late 1750’s to about 1770, with dates and locations unknown. If I recall, some researchers say that this family disappeared from Chester County, PA in the 1760’s. So did it “join” the migration down the Great Wagon Road into Virginia or North Carolina? It is known that “a” William G. Boyd had settled in Williamson County, TN – just north of Nashville – and had a son Marcus M Boyd there in 1803. This Marcus Boyd in 1840 moved to Springfield, Greene County, Missouri with his family and slaves. So is his father William G. Boyd” the same person whose grandfather was buried Upper Octorara, Cemetery PA. Do members have any “evidence” one way or the other about these two William G Boyd’s?
