Do any list members have Robert's book - "My Family The Boyds" compiled by Robert T. Boyd, Jr., This book should start with the brothers Robert Boyd, who married Mary Peoples and William Boyd who married Mary Dorman and came from County Antrim. One of the thinks I would like to find out is where in County Antrim these two brothers lived in Antrim. When I first was given these families, I was told they lived in Newberry County, but over the last few days when I have been adding some data to this family, they seemed to be centred around Hopewell ARP Cemetery, Blackstock, Chester, SC. (So I am not sure if when they arrived in 1772 it was Newberry County and then turned into Chester county or the family first settled in Newberrry County and then moves to Chester County. This this seems to be another Boyd family living in Chester County South Carolina - just to confuse those researching Boyd families in this County. Mike, I am pretty sure that there was no Chester or Newberry counties in 1772. South Carolina was still "Districts" then. So we are looking at "the 96th district" in 1772. The courthouse was at Oxford then the Old 96th courthouse which has actually moved since then. Both counties were formed in 1785. Three different courthouses with three different sources and people tend to have just gone to the closest one despite where they actually lived. The two counties Chester and Newberry while both being included in the 96th District are distinct and separate with no overlapping areas. So, after 1785 to be in Chester is to Not be in Newberry.
