It is known that at least two Boyd families are buried in the Upper Octorara, PA., Churchyard. Rev Adam Boyd’s family (who was minister of this Church for 30 or 40 years) and the family of Robert Boyd who died in 1743 and had a son James Boyd, who died in 1764 and married in the 1720’s, Jane/Janett Henderson, These two families do not appear to be closely related and are buried only a few rows apart. I am wondering if someone – who might live close to this Church or has visited it – could produce a “mud” map and list all these Boyd graves with their inscriptions so it could be used as an article for a future “Dean Road”? We know that Rev Adam Boyd came form Ballymoney, County Antrim, so I would not be at all surprised to find that Robert Boyd’s mihgt have come form northern County Antrim as well – where many Boyd families seemed to have settled. Thank you for volunteering Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS PS If anyone is on the Henderson named rootsweb.com Net list, you may wish to forward it into that list as well.
