I was recently sent this website - http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~lboyd/BoydDataBase10262000.htm – from a private Group I am involved with. One of the entries for this site has this entry under County Londonderry. ”William Boyd, Rev., from Ireland in 1718; returned 1719; son of Boyd of Dungiven, Derry, Leavitt' Blair Family, p. 24.” Have anyone come across “Leavitt' Blair Family” before and what other details does it provide on Rev William Boyd and his parents? ‘Some” sources say that this William’s father was the Rev Thomas Boyd of Aghadowery, but he would have had to been in his 70’s when Rev William Boyd was born in about 1686. (So in my view unlikely but possible.) Thank you Mike Boyd Brisbane, Aust.
This is the Blair book you've seen before Mike. It provides no facts for the family connection, just a local "history" on the family connections. The Blair's are part of the 1718 emigration, and major players in that event. They were members at Aghadowey. We clearly are missing a generation. Colin Brooks
