    3. There were Boyds at Ardgour, northern Argyllshire – opposite Fort William from 1430 – who “worked” for the Maclean Laird of Ardgour. This is area can only support a small farming area, so over the centuries members would have had to migrate to produce food. so I am THINKING that a number of the Boyds from the Islands, Inverness and other parts of northern Scotland COULD come from this GROUP of Boyds who were part of Ewen Maclean’s army of 16. I do not know if any of these Boyds have done their DNA and if they mihgt match.
