    1. [BOYD] John Boyd d. 1808 Barren Co, KY new "brick wall", insight anyone?
    2. Hello, I have alas broken my direct line brick wall of John P. Boyd b. 1810-1877Caldwell Co. KY with irrefutable primary source documentation that shows George Boyd d. 1839 Caldwell Co. KY m. Dicey Cash was my direct line John P. Boyd’s father. I now also have further insight from sources and copying in part of that below to go past this newly found George Boyd m. Dicy Cash of my direct line. This would be John Boyd d. 1808 Barren Co. KY m. Susannah (maiden name unknown). This is now my new brick wall. "In Deed Book E, page 330 at Barren Co. Courthouse, Glasgow, Kentucky, is a deed of the heirs of John Boyd to John P. Wagner, a tract of land containing 200 acres by survey, bearing date of 29 Aug 1799, patented to John Boyd, lying and being in the County of Barren on the waters of Peters Creek. Also another parcel of land containing 200 acres by survey, bearing the date of 29 Aug1799 patented to Robert Boyd, lying and being in the Co. of Barren on the waters of Peters Creek (later Monroe County, Kentucky). The heirs of John Boyd listed in the deed were; George Boyd and Dicy, his wife, John Boyd, Thomas Boyd, William Boyd, Robert Boyd, Samuel Yates, and Nancy his wife, George Daugherty and Hannah his wife, Levi Greathouse and Betsy his wife, Sally Boyd, and Susannah Boyd.” This John Boyd spoken of above died 1808 Barren Co. KY. It is speculated he was born abt. 1740 in VA. His wife Susannah died abt. 1818 Barren Co. KY "The Inventory of John Boyd was taken 29 October 1808 and the Inventory of Susannah Boyd, his wife, was taken 30 May 1818." Does anyone have further insight on this line of John Boyd m. Susannah? My direct line again in their marriage was son, George Boyd m. Dicy (Diana) Cash and again it has been confirmed with primary source records not shown in this message that George Boyd. m. Dicy Cash was father to my John P. Boyd. b. 1810 d. 1877 m. Sarah Plunkett Rucker I’ve read others on the list speak of this line of John Boyd d. 1808 Barren Co, as it now showing is also my line in other sources, perhaps someone knows more on this John Boyd d. 1808 Barren Co. KY that can share further knowledge on him in reference to a confirmed birth year and place and his father? Sincerely, Laury Boyd Long HBS PNW Convenor skylaury@comcast.net

    3. Laury, Congratulations on breaking down your John Boyd brick wall. Condolences on finding another right behind it. :-) I'm still banging my head against my James Boyd brick wall, despite contacting dozens of DNA matches with roots all over KY, TN, and NC. Regards, Bruce Boyd

    3. Congratulations! I've got to ask, do you know what the "P" in John P. BOYD's name stands for? We are hunting Paul's in the BOYD line, early 1800's.
