Members When I have written to a number of you, I will have suggested that you should join the spouse named list of your Boyd and also join the various Location lists to “advertise” your family. While the Boyd list should be your “CENTRAL” or “PRIMARY” LIST for researching your Boyd family, there are a number lists you should be on at anyone time. This number will depend on who much time you have to work on your PC and the volume of traffic on each list. Your message to each list goes to archives which can be searched by people in the future which I understand some other platforms do not do. If you are on other roostsweb.com net list (or any other net list for that matter), you may wish to inform members of that list that there is a Boyd Net list at BOYD@rootsweb,com that cover all Boyd matters. There are people of this list that have experience in quite a number of areas. There is the House of Boyd Society. This runs Boyd tents at various locations – mainly in the USA – to help pass on our Boyd history to the Public. There is a website http://www.clanboyd.org We are building a Clan Boyd Pyramid of its descendants. (The Chairman of the Historical Committee has some 770 Boyd family Branches – some of these are only a page, while others are over 50 pages. He still have some 3,000 other Boyd families to process from his last 6 overseas trips.) We have a quarterly magazine called Dean Road, which all people are encouraged to submit articles to the Editor on a great number of issues So to help tell other people that there is a separate Boyd list you may wish to send a message to each of these other non-Boyd lists you are on to advise that there is a Boyd list that deals with all Boyd and Boyd descendant inquiries that they may wish to advertise their family and provde some details of the activities.
