    3. Barry, In reply to an older comment on the Boyds of Swansea I have to say that, ( on hand me down info ), that William Boyd was my great grandfather and he and his brother Thomas were early settlers on Lake Macquarie. Maud Boyd, one of William Boyd's daughters, was my grandmother. Maud in turn married one Walter Lambert James and they resided in Newcasltle area all of their married life as did my parents. The stories I have heard over the years from my grandmother re the Boyds have now become a little fogged so antything I say from hereon could be classed as heresay I suppose. The way she spoke of her father was little short of complete praise for the man and and his brother Tom. As best I recollect she told me of the adventures together they had in investigating Lake Macquarie. ( and I am not sure that it was named Lake Macquarie in those days or not as grandma used to call it by another name but I am not sure what it was ). These two brothers finally settled in Swansea and they had streets named for them, I.E Boyd Street, William street and Thomas street. Their final days were spent there but prior to that they were noted as investigators of the Central Coast as they apparently used to carry goods etc from Sydney to Lake Macquarie. As you can tell from the above info all of my roots on my mothers side were from in and around the lake subsequently I am now researching this particular Boyd family but to no avail. The question now remains for me to find answers to is, " Where did the Boyd brothers come fropm prior to Lake Macquarie ?" Do you or anybody that you may have been in contact with re the early days of Lake Macquarie have information on these two Boyd brothers ? I am at a complete dead end on these two brothers so any info that you may have come across in the past will or maybe of assistance to me. Hoping you may be able to asist in this matter, Warren Stoddart Mannering Park On 22/01/2016, at 12:02 PM, Warren Stoddart via wrote: > Yes Mike I did reply earlier today stating that the info I have on this couple. William Boyd is "supposed" to be correct according to the info I have which was passed down to me by my grandmother. I just only hope that the info she gave was correct OR was it something she was "told" that may not have been correct ?? Who knows for certain and I guess that I have no reason to disbelieve her ? How do I prove this ?? > > Cheers, > Warren Stoddart > Mannering Park > > On 06/01/2016, at 10:30 AM, Mike Boyd via wrote: > >> Does anyone have any information on a William Boyd of the 1800’s who lived at Swansea, NSW.
