We Boyd's have great powers but one of them is - unfortunately - that we can't read minds. So if you are one of people that are LURKING on the list waiting for someone else to post some details about your family, you NEED TO ADVERTISE what you are looking for so people can help you. We have ALL had to start by telling the list details about our family. So do what I call your DIRECT BOYD TREE. Start with yourself and work backwards through your known Boyd generations. Because of privacy problems, you may only wish to start to put the dates and places for your grandparents. So this direct tree will show other list members your families migration path, or they may be able to link into one of the earlier generations. While if your family has been in a single location for 100 or 200 years you may become the "expert" for the Boyds in that location. However, experience, shows us that many Boyd families did like to move. So as you go form one location to another, other people on the list MAY BE ABLE TO HELP YOU sources, local history or contacts. At present I have some 630 Boyd family chapters and I have collected another 800 or so family chapters from last years trip to Scotland Ireland and the USA and this years trip to the USA in April and May. And these are only a fraction of the Boyd families that are out there. So POST YOUR FAMILY DETAILS and hopefully someone on the list will connect to your family. Thank you.
