The Boyd/Boyt/Boyett "clan" seemed to have mainly come into North Carolina from Virginia. I suspect may have used the "Fall Line Road" (if they moved into the middle of North/South Caroline. The "Upper Road" would have taken them from Virginia to the western part of North/South Carolina. The "King's Highway" followed the coast line from Boston thru Virginia to Wilmington, NC and Charleston, S.C. As they moved westward, they probably used postal roads to get to the "Federal Road" thru Georgia, Alabama into Mississippi/Louisiana. This would position them to move into the Missiouri Terriority (Oklahoma/Missiouri and points west). As these families moved westward, some stayed in a location and some moved on. My Boyt family seem to have come from the Carolinas into Georgia. Some stayed, others moved into Alabama and Florida. The ones that went to Alabama did the same, some stayed there, others moved west, and (my family) moved into Florida. My family seems to have been following free or cheap plentiful land. Often moving into dangerous areas (the Indians were still hostile and warring against us at this time). Just some background info that I have collected along the way.
