Steve, I just now typed your Joseph Carl Boyd into a _www.ancestry.com_ (http://www.ancestry.com) search page and it automatically changed the name to Carl Joseph Boyd and this fellow had the identical dates and places you have given in your letter. We all know very well to go to original sources, but sometimes you can get a lead on where to look next by using such sites. There are pictures and even a photo of his grave site in Pueblo, CO. Was his wife Josephine and he had a daughter named Madeleine who died in 2002? That's what several of the submitted trees say. So many of the submitted trees however are just copies of what someone else had said before. I see that with my own Boyds all the time. I don't own any stock in the company I used.........just trying to give you another idea to try. Charlene Boyd Kemp PA State Historian HBS In a message dated 5/30/2011 7:16:37 P.M. He is my brick wall and I can't find any additional information on who my GG might have been? Sadly I believe Joplin MO was were there might have been some records but now after this recent tornado I am not sure where to look next? Any help would be much appreciated. (Change subject line when you post!) Dear Cousins: Where and when are you stuck on your Boyd genealogy? What is your brick wall? What records have you researched? Which records have you still not explored? (or can't find!) When was the last time you reviewed the details of what you do have? Are you certain you have checked everything possible? I am participating in a discussion on Facebook and in asking similar questions, I have been able to help Vicki Beaver find the immigration date of her brick wall ancestor (1910 US Census) and pointed her to the Ship he arrived on and several other Boyds who came over on the same ship at the same time. Now she needs to dig farther and probably make a trip to the National Archives for Naturalization records. However, she knows a bit more today than she did yesterday. Share the details of your Boyd brick wall and perhaps the hundreds of eyes viewing the messages might have a fresh perspective and be able to nudge you along to the next level. Be sure to change the subject line on your message so it matches your text.
