    3. Dear Cousins: Where and when are you stuck on your Boyd genealogy? What is your brick wall? What records have you researched? Which records have you still not explored? (or can't find!) When was the last time you reviewed the details of what you do have? Are you certain you have checked everything possible? I am participating in a discussion on Facebook and in asking similar questions, I have been able to help Vicki Beaver find the immigration date of her brick wall ancestor (1910 US Census) and pointed her to the Ship he arrived on and several other Boyds who came over on the same ship at the same time. Now she needs to dig farther and probably make a trip to the National Archives for Naturalization records. However, she knows a bit more today than she did yesterday. Share the details of your Boyd brick wall and perhaps the hundreds of eyes viewing the messages might have a fresh perspective and be able to nudge you along to the next level. Be sure to change the subject line on your message so it matches your text. Yours Aye, Lauren Boyd List Admin

    2. Boyd, Steven
    3. Hello all, Does anyone have information about a Mr. Joseph Carl Boyd born 1884 in Missouri and died 1959 in Pueblo Colorado. He is my brick wall and I can't find any additional information on who my GG might have been? Sadly I believe Joplin MO was were there might have been some records but now after this recent tornado I am not sure where to look next? Any help would be much appreciated. 3. Steven I assume that he came from the Coplin area of Missouri - so what County was that in in 1884? Secondly, have you got his death certificate form 1959 in Pueblo Colorado. That should give his parents - if the informat know that data. Thirdly, do you know when he was married and to whom. If you know his spouse's Surname, you may like to also join that mailing list to see if the spouses family might know his parents name, etc Missouri seems to have been quite popular with Boyd families, so as you get each bit of new infromation on your Joseph tell the list what you have found. 1. Re: [BOYD] Roll Call -- Ann Boyd & William Finnie
    2. Lynne Hadley
    3. Hi Cousins, My brickwall remains as ever, Ann Boyd who married William Finnie in Ardrossan in 1745. William was living in Kilmarnock at the time of his marriage to Ann. So far, I have found out that the Finnies were actually from Constablewood near Largs; that William was operating an ironmongery in Kilmarnock up to 1772-73, before it passed on to his son, Archibald. I have also found records for Grizel Finnie, who was living at Constablewood when she married William Taylor (1726, maybe...haven't got the record in front of me), but who was married a second time to William Gilchrist in Kilmarnock, in 1747. I'm wondering if she was looking after William's three childen after his first wife, Mary Wilson died, until he married Ann. I believe that Ann may have been married previously, to Hugh Morris of Saltcoats. Names were given in by Ann Boyd & Hugh Morris in 1743, at Ardrossan, although unlike the other entries on the page, there was no later "married" entered. I have been unable to locate a record of any children being born to them. And according to Archibald's birth certificate, Ann had been married before. So, there you have it...I still have no idea as to the parents of both William & Ann. Cheers, all. Lynne. :))

    3. My brick wall is in part from laziness, and part from not knowing where to go from here. I have traced my relatives to the ship(s) they took to the US in 1869/1871. I believe I know the county in Ireland where they resided. Where do I go from here to find possible birth records and parent information? R. E.
