According to the book Eldred E. Brown, His American Ancestors Descendants and siblings and Thirty-Tow allied Families, Edwin H. Brown, 1985, page 57, it says:- "Mary Boyd was married to her first husband, Ishamael Bateman in 1704. They had one son and three daughters. Her first husband died about 1712. Mary died in 1735. William Goe (1-1) was a native of Scotland who migrated to America in 1702 and settled in Prince George's County, Maryland near what was later called Upper Marlboro. He was married on 25 Jan. 1725 to Mary Boyd Bateman by Rev. Jacob Henderson. Her parents were John Boyd and Mary ----- , both born in England. William and Mary Goe had two children: 2-1 Margaret, b 1727/8/19; m. before 1761 Richard Hutton 2-2 William Jr., William Goe was a warden of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Queen Anne Parish, Leeland, Maryland in 1735 & 1736. William Goe, Jr., (2-2) was born in Queen Anne Parish 1729/8/4. He married 1754/11/28, Dorcas Turner, daughter of John Turner, Jr. and Elizabeth Brashears Turner. They had fourteen children. The 8th child: 3-8 Philip, b 1767/3/24; d 1808 m. Rebecca Boone, daughter of the famous Daniel Boone. William Goe, Sr., with his family migrated from Maryland to an area near present day Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania in about 1773." I know that Daniel Boone has been removed from the Quaker Church, but I am not sure when. So why this link between a Quaker family and a Episcopalian family? I know that a number of Boyd families also lived in Fayette Co., PA. So MIGHT some of Mary Boyd Bateman Goe's Boyd relative's have followed them to Fayette Co., PA? Do any of our list members who have ancestors from Fayette Co., PA know where their families came from? I think that this Mary Boyd's father John Boyd is one of the Boyd families in the DNA Group A list of Boyd families Michelle Ligon, did you know about this connection to Daniel Boone's family and can you get any descendants of Philip Goe and Rebecca Boone?
