MY GUESS is that this family moved for Work reasons (or employment) from Ireland to Lanarkshire, Scotland and then to Newcastle-on-Tyne in England and then to Chatham. (Is that the one on the Thames River?) If so your family could have been involved in the ship building industry. When I checked in the 1981 IGI for Scotland, I found an IGI entry of:- Samuel Boyd married Elizabeth Blair on 12 Oct. 1858 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Batch number 7434719, serial # 45. This would suggest that some one ahs done a large family tree on this family. Further down that page they have the birth of their 3rd child Samuel at Bo'ness, West Lothian in 21 Feb 1866 but his is an Church entry. You may need to look at the Scotlandspeople website to see what you can find out about William Boyd and Margaret McKenzie's marriage on 21 May 1836. This is a pay site but at low cost. Hopeful the certificate will tell you who William Boyd's parents are and if they are Jeremiah Boyd and Eliza Logue (Logie). I will write to you privately shortly. My Grandfather, William Boyd was born in Newcastle-on-Tyne on 11/2/1893 subsequently marring my grandmother Elizabeth Ramsden on 30/3/1918 and resided at Chatham in England. Another William Boyd, Samuel's father was born in Ireland in 1811 occupation Cotton Weaver . William married Margaret McKenzie b Ireland 1820. They married on 21/5/1836. In formation from Scotland Census 1841 on. I hope this may be of some help My own search has ground to a halt at William and Margaret. I have found a William Boyd born 11/11/1812 in Co Derry to Jeremiah Boyd and Eliza Logue. This was the only William Boyd I could discover born in Ireland in 1812. Of Eliza Logue I found nothing..
