Recently I was sent a query which had William Boyd and Mary Findlay, but no dates or locations. So being me, I went searching and found this family for them:- R1? William Boyd, b / /167x ( ), d / /17xx ( ), bu , m / /1702 (church, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire), Mary Findlay, dau of and (nee ) Findlay, b / /168x ( ), d / /17xx ( ), bu , and had issue:- >From the 1981 IGI for Scotland, I did find these marriage entries for this couple:- William Boyd, married Mary Finlay, 15 May 1702, Kilmarnock, Batch No. 7113713, serial # 24; William Boyd, married Mary Findlay, 18 June 1702, Kilmarnock, Batch No. A17115, serial # 3672; William Boyd, married Mary Findlay, 18 June 1702, Kilmarnock, Batch No., 7101814, serial # 13; (The first entry might be an Bann notice rather than their marriage!] When I searched for any children I found these:- 1) John Boyd, Bapt 5 Mar 1703 at Kilmarnock (Batch No., 7113220, serial # 77); 2) Jean Boyd, Born 12 July 1703 at Kilmarnock (Batch No., 7005510, serial #81); 3) William Boyd, Bapt. 25 June 1703 or 5? [more like 1705, as hard to reads], at Kilmarnock, (Batch No. 7401104, serial # 55 & Batch No. 7113220, serial # 76); 4) James Boyd, born 3 June 1705 at Kilmarnock, (Batch No., 7607539, serial # 52); 5) daughter Boyd, bapt 6 June 1707, at Kilmarnock (Batch No., 7113220, serial # 76); 6) James Boyd, born 30 Dec 1712, at Kilmarnock (Batch No., 7005510, serial # 82); 7) John Boyd, born 1 May 1715, at Kilmarnock (Batch No. 7005510, serial # 82); 8) George Boyd, b 7 Nov 1716, at Kilmarnock (Batch No., 7005510, serial # 1); 9) Eupham Boyd born 9 Oct 1718 at Kilmarnock (Batch No 7005510, serial #1 & born 19 Oct 1718, at Kilmarnock, (Batch No., 7401104, serial # 22). >From the gaps between the daughter born in 1707 and the second James Boyd born in 1712, it would appear that other children were born to this couple. Do any list members know of any other children born to William Boyd and Mary Findlay? I am looking for any descendants of these children plus the Boyd ancestors of this William Boyd. I understand that this William Boyd (the third child) who is said to have married Martha Thompson, in some quarter has been confused with a William Boyd, who married Margaret McClean in Northern Ireland and came to Manor of Manske, just north of Gettsburg, PA.
