Hello, While researching my William Brown McMillan b. Dec 11, 1817 Ayr/ Julia Montgomerie Oswald b. c 1821 St Quivox , Ayr line I have come across a collateral line that I am hoping will assist me in my research. Mary OSWALD b. c 1811 St Quivox Ayr, Scotland m. James BOYD b. c 1806 Ireland on 4 April 1830 In St Quivox and Newton, Ayr. Mary died on 14 Feb. 1858 in Ayr and is buried in Wallacetown Cemetery, Ayr. James is listed as a cotton weaver on Mary's death record. Mary is the daughter of Andrew OSWALD b. c 1781 and Judith MONTGOMERIE b. c. 1780 St Quivox, Ayr. Mary would be the sister to my Julia. Andrew and Judith, their parents, were married on 20 Feb 1803 In Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland. Records show that Mary and James had 10 children: 1) Andrew b. 08 Sept 1830 St Quivox and Newton Ayr d. before 1834?? 2) James b. 26 Jan 1832 " 3) Andrew b. c 1834 (on 1841 census as 7 y/o) 4) Mary b. 20 Jan 1840 St Quivox and Newton Ayr 5) John b. 20 Feb 1837 St Quivox and Newton Ayr 6) Oswald b. 13 Oct 1842 " 7) Stewart b. c 1846 " 8) Montgomerie b. c 1848 " 9) William b. c 1851 " 10) David b. 15 April 1855 " (David's birth record shows him as the 10th child and that there are 7 boys, 1 girl --and 1 boy deceased-- at this birth and this seems to document the Andrew #2) If anyone has any information on this family I would appreciate any assistance. I am particularly interested in any information on the above OSWALD and MONTGOMERIE family or any guidance in direction to search. Thank you Pat Florida USA
