Dear Cousins: As you know, Rootsweb LISTS do not allow attachments or photos. Just plain text messages. However, when you see a message like this one, that has come from the message board via the gateway, which has mention of an attached photo --- click the link and go to the board. The message boards DO allow for upload of photos to attach to the message. You will not see the photos in your email. However, you can view them on the board. Once at the message, you can click on the "thumbnail" of the photo and see a larger view of the photo. Members New Abbey, Dumfriesshire is west and across the river from the Maxwell's Castle at Caerlaverock. It is south of Dumfries. While Robert the Bruce gave Sir Robert Boyd lands about the same distance north of Dumfries at Dalswinton and Duncow. If you are driving from Kilmarnock and going to England, there is both a nice drive along the Ayrshire coast to Stranrear and tehn alonmg the A75 road to Dumfries or staight down the A76 road from Kilmarnock to Dumfries. This might be an area that both our Scottish cousins could expolore or those overseas tourist.
