    3. 1820 census index shows 4 James Boyds. Screven 261 no twp L Hall 139 no twp L Columbia 027 no twp L Jefferson 290 Louisvil 1807 Land Lottery index lists two James Boyds Militia District Lot District Drew Land Boyd, James Columbia 3 23/15 Baldwin Boyd, James Jefferson Tarver 43/9 Wilkinson in the abstracts for the GA Journal (newspaper) Volume 1809-1818 there is a James Boyd in Jackson county that died about 1817. Nothing on a Mildred Boyd. 1832 Cherokee Land Lottery there is a James Boyd that had "Gwinnett" on his line. I am unsure if that meant he was from Gwinnett or drew there. I think drew there although there was nothing on the map in the book labelling anything as Gwinnett. I only had about 30 minutes so I was not thorough. The Milledgeville newspaper abstracts also did not show anything for a Mildred Boyd. I did not check the other land lotteries but without something more to go on there would be no way to tie a James Boyd to Thomas's James Boyd. The actual land lotteries showed if they were a Rev war vet (or at least some do as I recall- I don't know if they all do) so that might give another possible lead. the librarian was very helpful and is the one that suggested the 1820 census but she too had no idea if whites in the Indian lands may have made it into any other county census further east in 1820. Cobb county is a long way into "indian lands" though for a census taker I would think. I saw no separate listing for "Indian Lands" only the counties. Is it known if any of the younger kids were born in Georgia? Any stories of where James might have died? Did any of the kids end up in Georgia? the only maiden name I have for Mildred is the one Thomas mentions- possibly "Moody" Rhonda from Thomas Boyd: I am looking at an accumulation of papers from other relatives. James allegedly served 7 years in the Patriot Army of the American Revolution from 1775-1782 ( April 18,1775 may be enlistment date?) Had 6 children with Mildred (Millie): Wm b. 1778, John 8/25/1784, James 10/15/1785, Mildred b 1780, Elizabeth m 1/1/1803 and Robert b. unk. That is the sum of my knowledge and I'm not sure of all of it.
