Charlene Denise McAllister has just advise me privately that there are 5 Volumes to this series and that she has already organised an interlibrary loan for these books. Hopefully then they can go on the HBS website for others to see what is available. W. P. Boyd in his book of 1912, said that the Boyd's came to the USA in the early 1700's - I think 1720's he mentioned. For quite some time I have known that this date was wrong but have not had time to both research and write up an article on when Boyds did settle in the USA. I know that there are Boyd listed in Connecticut in the 1680's; Maryland 1680's; South Carolina in 1695 (?) and in Virginia in 1641 (and I have found some others in later periods of the 1600's.) And these are the only one that we have found so far. So there is an NEED TO START the process of looking at what sources - both on paper and online - are available. Lauren, I think that you have been acting as webmaster - when you have time - so if people can identify existing website that will have Boyds migrating into A COUNTRY, can a "page" be set up on the HBS webpage to link these other sites? The Boyds on page 61 arrived at Philadelphia 21 July 1848 from Belfast. They are: John age 40, Hugh age 38, Martha age 37, and William age 50. All of them are listed as "laborers." Google doesn't allow full access to page 525, but I did get some names: Mary-Ann, Abrem, Ann, Anne, Archibald, Benjamin.....and it looks like there could be more, but maybe someone can find those in a library somewhere.
