The Andrew Botd who lived in Maury Coo. TN was the son of John Boyd and grandson of Robert Boyd who lived in Sadsbury Twp. chester Co. PA. John died there in 11750 and in 1763, Andrew's siblings sold their shares of John's land and moved to Rowan (later Iredell) co. NC. Andrew stayed behind, presumably with his mother Lettice (maiden name unknownO), but in 1770m sold his share, and by 1772 was im RRwan Co. For me, this raises a question as to whether the military service here belongs to a different Antw, although of coursethis one e could have gone back to PA to enlist. Also, he was 30 years old and apparently still unmarried in 1777. However, I really would like to see proof that my U Uncle Andrew was the soldier described. Howard V.
