    2. John Boyd
    3. John F Boyd shows up in the 1900 Census living with his mother and step father Harry Crane in Jerome, Arizona. He also submitted a WWI Draft Registration Card from Yavapai, AZ. I know you asked about John H Boyd, but you also said you couldn't find any other information in Jerome. Every little bit helps. -----Original Message----- From: boyd-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:boyd-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of benitab52@aol.com Sent: Wednesday, February 23, 2011 4:14 PM To: Boyd@rootsweb.com Subject: [BOYD] John Henry Boyd b. about 1855 in PA, d. 31 Jan 1893 in Big Bug, AZ Mike suggested that we resubmit "Brick Walls". I first posted some of this in 2006 but did not receive any responses. I now have more information but not enough to make a connection. Any information that you might have would be appreciated. I am looking for information about the ancestors of my husband's great-grandfather. His name was John Henry Boyd who came to Jerome AZ to manage the United Verde Copper Company in Jul 1887. He married Kate Christian (b.16 Jan 1862 in Nova Scotia and d.10 Apr 1932 in Jerome, AZ) on 20 Jul 1889. John died on 31 Jan 1893, his obituary states he was 37 yo and a native of PA and he was a member of the Knights of the Pythias. They had a son James Frederick Boyd who was b. 29 Jul 1890 Jerome, AZ d. 13 Sep 1980 Prescott, AZ. No other information other than the mining claim in the area has been uncovered in AZ. In 1904 his son inherited Easton bank stock from his father's relatives (I have the certificate number) and the court papers in AZ state that this was from Scranton, PA but no name of deceased. I have not been able to find out who this was from. In John's hand written mine diary he has an inscription in the back "First coal discovered Col. William Boyd found coal in Virginia 1701 worked for General Urr(??) 1770" We are not sure if John was related to this Col. William Boyd he writes about or is just note. My husband has had Y-DNA analysis (67-marker)conducted and he belongs to the U106 Haplogroup and so far no matches. Thanks for any information that might guide to the right John H. Boyd family in PA.
