    1. Re: [BOYD] BOYD, Andrew Roster of Soldiers and Patriots of the American Revol...
    2. Howard and Boyd cousins, perhaps this just muddies the waters more, but I have a Lettice Boyd in my files that could be the Lettice to which you refer below. This does not answer your question as to military service, but it's interesting nevertheless and it may help someone else. Henry Chambers and family arrived in PA ca. 1740, lived in Derry Twp., and moved to Iredell Co. NC in 1752. Henry was married to Jennet Baird, and they had a son named Robert, born 1742 while they were still in PA. In 1768, Robert married Jane Batey and then in 1776 he married Lettice Boyd. If your John Boyd died in 1750 and the Boyd and the Chambers family had both moved to Iredell, NC, is this Lettice John Boyd's widow? (Taken from files at the Capital Area Genealogical Society.) TN was the son of John Boyd and grandson of Robert Boyd who lived in Sadsbury Twp. Chester Co. PA. John died there in 1750 and in 1763, Andrew's siblings sold their shares of John's land and moved to Rowan (later Iredell) co. NC. Andrew stayed behind, presumably with his mother Lettice (maiden name unknown), but in 1770m sold his share, and by 1772 was in Rowan Co. For me, this raises a question as to whether the military service here belongs to a different Antw, although of course this one could have gone back to PA to enlist. Also, he was 30 years old and apparently still unmarried in 1777. However, I really would like to see proof that my Uncle Andrew was the soldier described. Howard V. Jones
