Mike and all, Here are links that I have stumbled across in the last couple of days while researching another family. Seems there is a growing list of overlap of the Horton Family and Boyd Family that I did not know existed. Beyond the links provided I have no other info at this time: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/o/w/e/Scott-W-Owens/GENE2-0032.html http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/o/w/e/Scott-W-Owens/GENE2-0022.html http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/h/o/w/Bettye--V-Howell/BOOK-0001/0007-0005.html http://books.google.com/books?id=yvJw1hHgSLMC&pg=PA9&lpg=PA9&dq=ELIZABETH+BOYD+HORTON&source=bl&ots=-Ph-CyiYCp&sig=_tPrHd2dgtnIzzyXcRVSevfAuxU&hl=en&ei=hPdbTbjvDsP58AbToqzuDQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=8&ved=0CEgQ6AEwBw#v=onepage&q=ELIZABETH%20BOYD%20HORTON&f=false and for mike here is a link for the Elizabeth Boyd Horton Info you wanted http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.horton/1986.1.2.2.1.1.1/mb.ashx Larry Horton ________________________________ From: Mike Boyd <mikejboyd@bigpond.com> To: Larry Horton <lbhorton12001@yahoo.com>; Boyd List <boyd-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tue, February 15, 2011 5:36:32 PM Subject: Re: [BOYD] Elizabeth Boyd b. 1809 Larry Can you give the source or reference for this data please. And did it tell you how the person's was that was providing data from his grandfather's Bible. Secondly, while I do not directly have any Boyds from Germany, it does not surprise me Elizabeth Boyd could have been born in Berlin, Germany. I think that you will find quite a number of Boyd families in many of the European Countries over time - even going back to the 1400's or before. We all know the story of Thomas Boyd, Earl of Arran, going back to Denmark in 1469 after he had relieved the King's bride. While France seems to have been a place for "forced holidays" when various Boyd picked the wrong side in Scottish Conflicts. We also had quite a number going there for University studies as well. Hopefully, the snow has now cleared in USA and other northern hemisphere countries, so people can get to their libraries. JUST REMEMBER TO TELL THE LIST WHEN YOU FIND ANOTHER BOYD FAMILY THAT IS NOT YOURS. Thank you Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS
