Thanks for the reminder Mike that I needed to get back to you on this. 1) Alexander Boyd born Dec 22, 1821 or 1822 in what he called Black Walnut, Halifax County, VA. Death Nov 30 1910 in Waterloo, Blackhawk County, Iowa Married: Martha Ann Appleton, born July 17, 1818 in Tulleytown, Bucks County, PA. She died Sep 1, 1909 in Arlington, Fayette Co., Iowa. She was the daughter of Richard Appleton and Hannah Moode Appleton. Richard died in 1843 in Tullytown, Bucks Co., PA. He was born in NJ. Hannah was born in PA and apparently died young as there is no record of other children and there is a record of Martha and her sister in the Orphan's court records. Both Alexander and Martha are buried in the Edgewood Cemetery, Delaware County, IA They married in Bellbrook, Greene County, Ohio January 25, 1847 (See note regarding marriage) The death certificate of Alexander said father John and mother Martha or Margaret Kern or Kerr - very hard to read. However we feel this is an error and it possibly was his brother and sister and that the father was probably George Boyd and Mary Halley. It was filled out by his youngest son and none of the relatives seemed to live near them so Wilbert may have just given names he remembered hearing at one point. 2) Children: 1. George, b Bellbrook, Greene Co., OH d. after April 1930 in Smith Co., KS 2. Mary Emma b. Bellbrook, Greene Co., OH, d 1915 Coos Co., OR 3. Anna Margaret b. Bellbrook, Greene Co., OH, d 1928 Coos Co., OR 4. Watson Lovett b. Bellbrook, Greene Co., OH, d 1924 Coos Co., OR 5. James Flowers b. 1857 Otisville, Clayton Co., IA, d. 1939 McGregor, Clayton Co., IA 6. Amanda Emily b. about 1858 in Clayton Co., IA d. about 1858 Clayton Co., IA - no real proof found on her. 7. Wilbert F. b... 1859 in Clayton Co., IA, d. 1931 in Reedsburg, Sauk Co., WI - (he is my direct line. Karen) Some have put this family as a son of Alexander and Ann Swepson Boyd, however there would seem to be a generation missing. Also some have taken our immediate family and connected with different parents which is incorrect. For one thing they have my mother connected wrong and my grandfather. Etc. born in a different area, etc. So far I haven not put any of my stuff on the internet nor have any of my cousins or aunts and uncles. What is there on the internet has no sources listed! UGH!!! I hope this will help. I use Word and I think you are in a different version that what I have or I could give you more. I have a ton of information on Alexander's children and if we ever get this connected I will be happy to share it with you. I've been working on this for many many many years. I just turned 71 so you know what I mean by many, many, many! Karen
