Mike Boyd of Brisbane, Australia, clan Boyd historian, will speak on Boyd family history at the East Tennessee History Center auditorium on Tuesday, May 3, at noon. The program is free. The History Center is located in downtown Knoxville at the corner of Gay Street and Clinch Avenue. The State Street parking garage is just a short walk, one block east of the building. If you have been on the Boyd genealogy e-mail list but have not made any posts yourself, now would be a great chance to get some in-person advice about your Boyd family tree, including families that married into the Boyds. If you have already made some progress on your Boyd family tree, please bring a copy of it with you to Mike's talk. Who knows, you might meet a long-lost relative there. Members I would like to thank Kathy for organising this meeting. Tennessee, is one of those states where many Boyd families went from Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina and I also think from Georgia and Alabama. So if you still have "cousins" living in East and or central TN you may like to advise them of this meeting. I suspect at my age - being a young 66 - it is very unlikely that I will be able to arrange another visit to this area. I look forward to seeing as many as I can to be able to pass on my knowledge about the Clan's history and to help people work their way back through their ancestors to the Central Stem of the Boyd family of Kilmarnock. Normally from last years trip these meeting talk about 3 hours. But Kathy was one of those ladies had me talking for 6 hours at Abington, VA.
