Mike, it IS Josiah. Back in 1999 when I first posted, we didn't have as much information readily available. Please delete my original post from that time. The 1850 Census for the North District of Patrick County, Va shows the following: Josiah Wood, age 38; Delila (as spelled here) age 34; Louisa ,13; Sarah J., 12; Lucy A., 10; Nancy E., 8; German M., 4; Archi J., 6 months and Sarah Boyd, 70 years old living with them. We would assume this to be Delilah's mother, Sarah Ward Boyd? The 1860 Census shows Josiah at 46, Delila at 40, Louisa 24, Nancy 18, German 14, Josiah at 13(is this Archi J?) and Henry at 10 months.
