Thank you Kim I would encourage anyone who has had family in the USA from 1860 to USE THIS FREE SERVICE while it is FREE. So you can check any of your mid 1800's male descendants - both Boyd and non Boyd names - so you can build on the data that you already might have on your family. I think we have seen in the past that some came down from Canada to fight. And there may be one or two from Ireland who came over to get involved as well. While if your family comes from South America, it may mean that you family might have been from the Southern States of the USA and migrated after 1865 to the County your family are now living in. So check out these data bases.
