Page: 20 BOYDS IN PENNSYLVANIA HISTORY OF THE MARSH CREEK SETTLEMENT AND MANOR OF MASKE From the general records of the migrations to Pennsylvania, we find our family of Boyds, so long associated with the Hamiltons of Scotland, following under Hamilton leadership into the northern counties of Ireland, and still later into Pennsylvania. Many of the families who came with Hance Hamilton in 1729 settled on Marsh Creek, Lancaster County, Pa. (which was later York, and now Adams County, Pa., near Gettysburg), in what was called "The Marsh Creek Settlement of Scotch-Irish Convenanters" in 1734 - 38. That was qoute out of the Scott Lee Book book. I am currently trying to research Hance Hamilton to see if we can find the list of the 140 families that came to the United States from Ireland with him. Possibly was this a congregation? Where were they from? Maybe if this is found we can find out more about these 3 Boyds and their families. Also what convenanter they belonged to. Mindy
