Forwarded from Mike The information reference Mr. Boyd's conclusion that John was the son of William would be incorrect because John would have been too young to bring a family over from Ireland with him. It is presumed that John was not the son of William. Does anyone else have any other information on this John Boyd that settled in Manor of Maske? We are trying to establish the relationship between William, John, and Thomas Boyd. Mindy and Mike

    3. I have the will of this Manor of Maske William Boyd, Will Book B, 133 York County, PA 13 Aug 1785-2 Dec 1785. This area is now in Adams County PA. Wife Catherine. He has a son John. He left his wife 50 pounds in cash, best bed and clothing, chest of drawers, her saddle, all her bodily apparel, one third part of the rents of my lands situate in the Sink-Hole Valley Bedford County or seven pounds per annum as she shall choose during her natural life. Children listed in will as follows: Land to son William and his son William. Money to each grandchild by deceased daughter Rosanna Kennedy when of age. Money to daughter Mary Caven, wife of John Caven and her son William. "One fourth part of my land on which he now lives" to son JOHN, cash and release of debt. Money, bedding, saddles, clothing to daughters Jannet and Elizabeth. The plantation on which he lives goes to three sons Robert, Archibald, and Benjamin subject to payment of 7 pounds to wife Catherine. If that is sold, the money to their mother comes from his lands in Juniata. Executors: wife Catherine and son Archibald.
