Further to my previous Email about Joseph Boyd (1740-??) and his son James Boyd who served in the War of Independence I have these 8 James Boyds:- L18 James: b 1752 d 10-14-1824 MA m Janet Bell Cpl MA L19 James: b 1-8-1763 PA d 1-14-1853 MS m (1) Sarah Sloan (2) Ann Miller Pvt NC PNSR While searching for my Boyd family info I discovered the following DAR information and hope it will help someone in their search. Jim Allen. Boyd, James, b. 1763, Lancaster, PA., d. 1854, Newton Co., Miss. Grave located in Chism Family Cemetery on the Van Henry Farm on Highway 494 near Union, Newton Co., Miss. Marked 13 April 1978, Bobbashela Chapter. So he would have to have been born in the 1760's. L20's family is outlined in W. P. Boyds book of 1912 and stayed in New York State. So that would rule him out. The only other James Boyd on this list is L19. This may or may not be Joseph Boyd's son James. As you can see it has him being born in 1763 in Lancaster Co., PA and died in 1854 in Newton Co., Mississippi and buried in Chism Family Cemetery on the Van Henry Farm on Highway 494 near Union, Newton Co., Miss. Marked 13 April 1978, Bobbashela Chapter Are there any members of this list living in or near Newton Co., MISS. whom may be able to do some research on this James Boyd to see if he ever lived in Surry Co., NC; Patrick Co., VA and or Russell Co., VA and if anything is know about his family, etc Thank you Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS
