Bill and others In view that Bill has said that Robert and Elizabeth were married in 1806, this WOULD TO ME suggest that Elisha was the eldest child and that the children Samuel and Oney or Leony Boyd were therefore most likely born after 1807. This would suggest that Elizabeth was still alive in 1811 when the third child was most likely born. So are there any records for Patrick County that may help to confirm this? And can more than 3 children be found for this couple? Bill when you plan your trip later this year I would suggest that you go to see Michelle Ligon at Boone, NC. The University Library there has information on many of the Mountain Counties. B) Go to Abington, Washington, VA. The Historical Society at the Railway station said there were plenty of Boyds in Washington County. While Michaelle and I found some of these there during our short visit befoe it closed. And you will need to go to the County Library as well. You may need more than a day going through these Boyds. Someone earlier this year posted about a Boyd currently living in Abington but I can't put my hands on that Email. (Perhaps Harold Boyd may know Boyds down that way.) C) Harold R. Boyd lives in Buchanan Co., VA. So he will know what is available in that County. This should allow you to contact current members of your fmaily and fill in some of the last few generations details. D) While Sherrie Kirby lives in Richmond, VA. So she should be able to point you to where the Franklin County records are storied. E) I am not sure if you wo9uld need to visit Patrick County before and /or after you go to Richmond. I would think that you will need more than a week. Perhaps a full 2 weeks.
