Yolanda Boyd of Grand Rapids MI has offered to help me organise a meeting/talk on Boyd history at the local library in Grand Rapids. She also offered to "I would be willing to help arrange a location in Detroit, Toledo or Fort Wayne...or any other location within a 2-3 hour drive from my home." I can not recall if there are other Boyds and Boyd researchers in Michigan. Or if people from "lower" Ontario, Canada, Indiana or Illinois could attend a meeting Tuesday morning? Or if it might be better to see if a suitable venue can be found in Detroit - if that is more central for people. At this stage I expect that I can get a direct flight from Las Vegas on Monday morning 18 April and it would appear to take about 5 hours on a Amtrack train to Grand Rapids (IF THAT IS THE VENUE DECIDED). The meetings last year took about 3 hours. They will be longer, if those attending want to try to connect to the 620 Boyd families that I have already collected. While Maria Fair from just north of Dayton, Ohio also volunteered to organise a meeting. So this will be the second meeting - AT A TIME TO AND VENUE - to be advise. [I have no idea how long it will take to come down form Michigan to Dayton, OH - so it could be Tuesday night or Wednesday (20 April) I do know that there were quite a lot of Boyd families in Eastern Ohio Counties, so hopefully there is someone in that region of Ohio whom may be ale to host a meeting/talk. As soon as I know the details about these two meetings, I will let the list know more about the time and venues Thank you Mike Boyd Chairman Historical Committee, HBS
