    3. List just looking at the information that Bill Boyd supplied to me for Elisha Boyd and Ella Leah Cockram and their children. He does not know where the first 2 children - Christiana, bc 1830, and Robert bc 1834, were born. However, he does provide that the 3rd child, John Boyd was bc 1838 in Russell Co., VA. So this would suggest that Robert Boyd or at least Elisha Boyd had moved from Patrick Co, VA to Russell Co. VA So the first task for those who are members of this family group is:- I) to find where Robert Boyd and Elizabeth Rakes were married. I WOULD ASSUME IN PATRICK Co., VA? So does anyone have any information on their marriage. If not is there some who lives in or near Patrick County that could do a search at the County Court House please? II) Is it known where all of Elisha Boyd and Ella Leah Cockram's children were born. The one that Bill has provided an location for is Russell Co., VA. So can you list what research you have each done in that County. III) Russell County, Va was formed from Washington Co., VA in 1785. When Michelle Legon and I went to Abington, VA in Washington Co., VA, we were told that there are or were a lot of Boyd in that County. IV) So have the VA Census from 1810 been used to find both Patrick and Elisha Boyds families. This may help to locations to find Land Records. These Census records may also help to identify where both Robert and Elizabeth Boyd died or where to look for the Cemetery . Are there any other sources of information that I have missed that needs to be looked at? Other Counties mentioned are Tazwell and Buchanan Counties, VA. Judith Spears of Pikesville, KY - just across the VA/KY border will be hosting a meeting for me at the end of April 2011. So hopefully we have found a solution before I give me talk in Pikesville, KY. 3. Mike, I) Robert and Elizabeth were married in Patrick County, Va. on 23 Oct. 1806. II) The children of Elisha Boyd and Ella Leah Cockram were born in two counties in Va. Christiana, Robert, and Sarah Leah were born in Patrick County and Isham, Issac, Samuel, and William were born in Russell County. I have not had the opportunity to travel to Va. for research. I am planning a trip possibly later this year to spend some time there and in Kentucky. There is not enough information available online to answer all the questions, and the State and Counties are not real eager to assist with mail and phone inquiries. I suspect they get an overload of genealogical requests.
