Mr. Boyd, a life-long resident of Bennezette township, until he moved to Greene three years ago, had been in failing health for nearly 10 years. He had been under medical care at the Mason City clinic, the Mayo clinic, Rochester, Minnesota and at Hot Springs, Arkansas, at different times. He re-entered the Des Moines hospital, where he had been a patient about six weeks last winter, on June 19, where he remained until his death. He was married to Hattie Scheuneman July 31, 1914, and the couple operated the farm on which Mr. Boyd was born until the couple retired and moved to Greene in 1941. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by Annie Boyd, William Boyd and Samuel Boyd, all of whom died in their youth.
