7. George and Isabella Boyd of Chester Co., PA grand daughter Isabella Boyd & Soloman West According to the book Relatives of the Browns of Mill Springs, Kentucky, Including the Fisher, Gaar, Gholson, Hutchison, Weaver and West Families, by James E. Brown & Margaret Brown Altendahl, 1992, provides a very large outline (about 5-60 pags) of the family of Isabella Boyd and Solomon West. Isabella was the second child of James Boyd and Mary Cochran of Granville County, NC. He was one of two brothers (Robert Boyd) who lived on the North Carolina and Virginia border, who would tell the tax collector from one State they lived in the other State. That is an other story. James Boyd was the fourth son of George and Isabella Boyd. George was one of the founding members of St John's Episcopal Church of Chester Co., PA who came from Antrim County, Ireland sometime in the 1720's. Before 1787 Solomon and Isabella West's family moved to Greenville County, SC. He appears in Wyne County Kentucky in 1800 having sold his land in Greenville Co., SC. I will post more details on this family in a few weeks time, when I can sort more of my papers collected from this years trip. Thank you Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS 8 June 2011
