    3. Hi Cousins: Might be a good idea to print this one and put it in that handy notebook next to your computer. Or save it electronically in your "how to" file on your computer. At any rate... keep it handy so you can refer to it until you are accustomed to the new changes.... and in the event you forget sometime down the road! It's been a couple or more weeks now since I opened the gateway between Rootsweb/Ancestry.com's Boyd message board and the Boyd list. AND since I removed the requirement to use "reply all" in order to have your post send to the list and not only to the original author. I am experiencing that there is some confusion out there. Let me see if I can clear a couple of things up. THE LIST ADDRESS: Boyd@rootsweb.com remains the address to send your original posts to the Boyd list. That has not changed. It is no longer necessary to "reply to all" in order to have your post send to the list and not only to the original author. If you use "reply to all" as there may be non-subscribers included in the original cc list, please REMOVE the address <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com>. GATEWAY posts: The address <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> is an Internal Rootsweb Address. It is NOT a new address to send mail to the Boyd list. It is NOT an address to send mail to the author of a Boyd message board post that has "gatewayed" to the Boyd list. Messages sent or replied to <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> go to a pending file and are discarded by the Message Board Coordinator. In other words, they go to the trash, sight unseen. To reply to the author of a post that comes from the address <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> (a "gatewayed post"/ Boyd Message Board post) you simply click on the URL (link) that is in the gatewayed post. It will take you to the message board at Rootsweb/Ancestry.com and you can reply there. Your reply will gateway to the list automatically. If you forget --- there is a short note at the bottom of every gatewayed post that tells you HOW TO REPLY to a gatewayed post. The gateway works in one direction ONLY. Messages from the board are emailed to the list. Messages from the list are NOT posted to the Board. Many of you have been subscribed to other lists that have functioned this way for YEARS. So, you are old hands at the process. Please be patient as the others on this list catch up with the new changes. Yours Aye, Lauren Boyd List Admin
