Hi Judy, I wish we could connect. So far I am not back to 1715. Only back to 1820 in VA. They were in Halifax Co VA yet in 1837, but not sure after that. One of his sons was 16 in 1837 and was my great great grandfather. He says he was born in Halifax Co., VA. Interesting his name was Alexander but his first son was George and his first daughter was Mary and if I go by the naming pattern that could be his mother and father. I believe his father was George Boyd who married Mary Halley in VA. However we all know how those death certificates can be confusing as when he died his son said his parents were John and Martha. But most indications are that they were his brother and sister. Don't we wish those early census told more and death certificates in the early 1800's would have been nice. My Alexander lived in Iowa but didn't seem to have any other of his family there. Let more know if we can ever connect! K.
