I. C. "Corky' Boyd Jan 20, 1958 - Jul 4, 2001 I.C. "Corky" Boyd, 43, of Tyler passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at a Tyler hospital. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler with Dr. David O. Dykes officiating. Interment will follow at Cathedral in The Pines. Pallbearers will be Greg Liska, Ed "Butch" Veale, Charles Hines, Gary Hill, Jim Rolf, Steve Sword, Tracy Edwards, Mike Watson and Gene Behne. Honorary pallbearers will be Stuart Stagner, Ed Davault, Jim Harris, David Cave, Johnny Caruthers, Toby Fuller and Wade Hipke. Mr. Boyd was born Jan. 20, 1958 in Corsicana. He was a 1976 Ennis High School graduate and a 1978 Tyler Junior College graduate. He married Karen Ann Williamson in Ennis on May 13, 1978. He went to work for American National Insurance Company in 1980 in Gretna, La. He moved back to Tyler in 1982, and went to work for FD&S Insurance Company in 1987. He became vice president and partner in 1990. He achieved fellowcraft professional designation from the Life Underwriters training council. He was a former president of the Independent Agents Association of Tyler. He was a 32nd degree mason, a member of Sharon Shrine Temple, a charter member of Quail Unlimited, was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, and was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. He lived each and every day to the fullest and brought joy to everyone around him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife, Karen Boyd of Tyler; daughter, Ashley Boyd of Tyler; parents, Walter and Glenda Boyd of Corsicana; brother, Carlton "Buddy" Boyd of Amelia Island, Fla.; sisters, Kamela Boyd of Irving and Kim Leyes of Ennis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Buddy and Shirley Williamson of Bullard; brothers-in-law, Doug Leyes of Ennis and Kelly Williamson of Fort Worth; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Boyd was born Aug. 8, 1910, in Kerens, Texas. She and Carney William Boyd were married Oct. 22, 1955, in Lawton, Okla. He died Sept. 30, 1986. She attended Mary Harden Baylor in Belton, Texas, and was a substance abuse councilor. She was a member of Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls. She was a member of Al Anon and was a resident of Olney since 1946 after moving from Wichita Falls.
