    3. Mike: In the USA most of the Genealogical Societies have projects to transcribe local cemetery records and monument inscriptions (tombstones.) Generally the Societies sell "cemetery books" to raise funds and also keep copies in local libraries. Many may also have a method of viewing the records online. Are you aware of such undertakings in Oz? What resources are there that others might not be aware of for Australia? Thanks! Yours Aye, Lauren

    2. Mike Boyd
    3. Rebecca from the 1994 IGI for the UK (down to Margaret Boyd) there are 2 possible entries for a John Boyd born in Ireland in 1845. A) John Carrol Boyd, parents Thomas Boyd & Mary Ann (no surname), Bapt 7 Sept 1845, at Dromore, County Down, Batch number 7123725, serial # 85; B) John Boyd, parents William Boyd - no mother listed, Bapt 2 Jan 1846, at Templepatrick, County Antrim, Batch number 8801331, serial # 41. I would look at both Batch numbers at your local LDS Church centre - but as you have a number of William Boyd's in your various generations, my GUESS WOULD BE ON THE SECOND ENTRY. There are quite a number of Boyds form Templepatrick which I understand is between Antrim City and Belfast. I hope that this will help you in your hunt. First, William had a brother John, b 1845 in Ireland, living with him in the 1880 census. Second, I found a copy of a photo/picture attached to William Joseph Boyd on one of the family trees on Ancestry.com. No documentation that this is actually your William, but would be happy to e-mail it to you. Third, on one of the Passenger Lists for the Standard, Jane Boyd and William Boyd are given different Family ID numbers. Not sure what that means specifically, but it is worth further research. I do. My information on them is sketchy, but here's how I think it goes: William lived circa 1840 to Feb 26, 1895. He arrived in New York on a ship out of Belfast on July 16, 1850. The ship's manifest lists him as 10 years old, and the only other Boyd on the ship with him was Jane, age 20. We are not sure whether they were closely related or not. In the Civil War, William fought for the Union as a soldier in the Ohio 6th Regiment. He and Fannie were married at a Presbyterian church in downtown Nashville on April 4, 1866. We think Fannie was born in 1844, perhaps in County Galway Ireland, and there is census data showing her still living in Nashville in 1910. She is the daughter of Barney Hines and Catherine (Surname Unknown). Fannie filed for a Civil War pension on Aug 25, 1896. Family lore has it that she was a Confederate nurse and tended to William (again, a Union soldier) when he was injured at the Battle of Stones River. We believe that William and Fannie had three children: Mary, William Mitchell (my great grandfather), and Thomas. My great grandfather William Mitchell Boyd then married Annie Petty, and they had, we think, the following children: William Joseph (my grandfather), Frances, Anna Marie, Thomas Dominic, Marguerite, Robert Joseph, Charles, John, and Helen. Hope this helps! 1. [BOYD] Boyd's in Cemetery in Columbus, OH
    2. Denise Gilchrist
    3. Hello Boyds! I thought I would let you know that here in Columbus, Ohio we have a cemetery that has a lot of Boyd's listed online. It was updated August 25, 2010 and has 129,000 records. Read the "Note" first then click on the letter "B". What is helpful about this is that it may give the name of the deceased's father. It really helped me because I never knew who my great-great-great-great grandfather was and I had never thought I'd find it. They can be contacted on the page and are very helpful. Good luck and I hope this helps someone! Here is the information:  Green Lawn Cemetery Burials, Columbus, OH 1848 to 1981.  The url is: greenlawn.delaohio.com/greenlawn/Greenlawn/index.htm  c   Niecie

Nashville TN is in Davidson County. Quite a number of Boyds went to Davidson Co., TN including with the Donalson Party in 1780. For Williamson County, TN I have at least 4 separate Boyd families - A Branch from George & Isabella Boyd's family; a Branch form Linda Lawhon's family of Iredell Co., NC; a Branch form the Boyds of Sadsbury Twp, Chester Co., PA - who had a William Boyd whose son Col Marcus Boyd went to Green County, MO and the family of James Boyd and Nancy Gentry Could someone on the gateway system please sent his message to them and ask the person to contact me directly with their Email address please. 1. Re: [BOYD] Nashville area Boyds
    2. Rebecca Boyd
    3. Why, yes! I'm looking for any Boyds descended from William Boyd and his wife Fanny Hines, who lived in Nashville, TN after the Civil War.  I'm particularly interested in finding out about the parents of William, but I'd be interested to chat with any descendant of William and Fanny, whether you have information about William's parents or not!  My grandfather, William Joseph Boyd (born 1914 in Nashville), apparently had a number of siblings, but I have never met any of them or any of their descendants. Eagerly awaiting new cousins, Rebecca Boyd  ;) --- On Mon, 8/8/11, howard.jones@uni.edu <howard.jones@uni.edu> wrote: From: howard.jones@uni.edu <howard.jones@uni.edu> Subject: Re: [BOYD] Looking for Missouri Boyd Connections To: BOYD@rootsweb.com, gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Date: Monday, August 8, 2011, 2:47 PM The Soringfield Booyds I know ae descendans of Maarcus BOyd who came from ' williamsom  Co.TN.
