    3. In January 2000 Sandy Di Nanni (Email [email protected] ) made a posting on her family I tried this Email yesterday and it has bounced. So does anyone know Sandy? During her day in the Bishop Museum and meet a lady from New York City.who was sitting at the same table researching the same Boyd family. Sandy did not give this New Yorker’s name but did say they exchanged notes. So do any list members connect to either lady and this Boyd family of Hawaii? Thank you Mike Boyd Historical Committee, hBS

One of the tickets is spoken for by Mike Boyd of Australia -- However, I don't know yet if he is desirous of the 2pm or the 4 pm reenactment. There are a total of 12 tickets still available. My friend wrote: ___________________________ 1) 10 King's tickets, Sat. June 28, 2014, for 2pm reenactment, with group 3 Visitor Center time of 12:00pm. 2) 3 King's tickets, Sat. The King's tickets get you into 1) the Reenactment, 2) The Visitor Center (will be open to the public, except for Bannockburn weekend, you must have a King's ticket to get in) 3) tea (think lunch) and a souvenir bag. I presume lunch is a buffet, open for several hours over lunchtime, as there are no specific times for that listed. Prices are £82.50 pounds (ticket price of £75. Plus booking fee of £7.50 = £82.50) or $128.00. (The exchange rate was about $1.53 on the day I purchased them + a foreign transaction fee charged by my bank, about 1%). ___________________________________ Please contact me by private reply ASAP if you are interested as the tickets will soon be offered to other clans. 3. Hi Mike I would advise that you keep in touch with organisers as there are serious problems with the selling of tickets for this event. Frey few have been taken and it is also our armed forces day and Stirling Council at the moment are refusing to let the armed forces parade. It is a disgraceful situation over here as everything is becoming political because of this Stupid referendum. It would be nice for us to purchase those already paid for, so that they can also re-coup their funds. I've heard some excitement about this Celebration, here in the USA. Aye, Lauren

    1. [BOYD] Joseph Boyd Indian Territory 1876 - 1876
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: chboyd68 Surnames: Boyd/ Lackey/ Warner Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.boyd/7245/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am searching for my 2nd Great Grandpa an unknown "Boyd", I believe is his name is Joseph. He had three children with Mary Jane Lackey. The first being Alfred Monroe Boyd, my great grandpa born 1/10/1868. Bell or Isabelle born 1872 and Joseph born 1876. I have been told he just got up one day and walked away. Never returned. I can't find Mary Jane Lackey ever listed as Boyd so I'm not sure if they ever married. I found Mary and the children on an 1880 census in Missouri along with her new husband and child - Elijah and Mansfield Warner. I also have found Alfred on an 1870 census in Reynolds County, Missouri, he is two. Because of the time frame and location (Indian Territory) and lack of records for Missouri, I'm not finding birth or marriage records. I know Alfred and brother Joseph eventually moved to California. I've been told Belle died I'm assuming at a young age. Any help or clues would be greatly appreciated!! If you have a Boyd with missing time frame from 1868 - 18! 76 we might have a match. 1. [BOYD] Boyds in Allegany County, New York
    2. Mike Boyd
    3. Over the recent week, I have been working on the family of Daniel Boyd and Jane White of Andover, Allegany county, NY. who had previously lived in County Antrim, Ireland. I have just been told that they travelled from Glasgow to New York on the Monticello (in steerage) and arrived in NYC on 13 May 1847. 1847 was in the middle of the Potato Famine in Ireland. So why did this family – with little money – go to Andover, Allegany County, NY? It would suggest that “other family” might already have been settled there? If so, whom might this be – a sibling or a cousin? Does the 1850 Census provide any other Boyds living in this County? Or did they go there because people for their own area of County Antrim had already moved there and had work for people from “back home”? And do we need to look at the Counties around Allegany County, NY for other possible relatives to Daniel Boyd. In 1847, what work was being undertaken in this area? Was the Erie Canal being built or the railway? >From the tree information that I have it would appear that Daniel was a younger child of his parent’s family. Thank you Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS

    1. [BOYD] Boyds of Derrykeighan Parish
    2. Mike Boyd
    3. Recently I was sent some information by Perry Streeter concerning Mary Boyd who married firstly William Thompson and moved to Greenwood, Steuben County, NY “In 1803, information was gathered in Northern Ireland to prepare for the possibility of invasion by Napoleon. (John Craig and Constable, Antrim List of Stock 9th Nov 1803: 23 Townlands in the Barony of Cary [hereinafter ALS]; transcription by Harry Doyle). Boyd and Thompson are very common surnames throughout Antrim. However, McHatton or variations thereof, appears to be quite rare. McHatton appears to be a variant of McIlhatton, a surname primarily found in Loughguile Parish (ALS). The householders of 1803 were of earlier generations than the parents of William Thompson, Mary Boyd and Robert McHatton. However, analysis of surname clustering when coupled with the Irish tradition that the eldest son was named after his paternal grandfather, provides us with possibilities for more in-depth research. It is important to note that an Irish Townland is a much smaller unit of land than a Town or Township in the United States. In all of ALS, there is only one Parish in which the surnames of Boyd, Thompson, McHatton, and McIlhatton co-existed. In Derrykeighan, there were fourteen Boyd households, two Thomson/Thompson households, and two McHatton/McIlhatton households. John "McHattn" of Dervock Townland, Derrykeighan was the only bearer of the McHatton spelling in all of ALS. Alexander and John Hatton both resided in of Ballybregagh Townland, Loughguile Parish. There were five Boyd households in Dervock: Alexander, James, Joseph, Samuel and William. There were four Boyd households in Ballybregagh: Daniel, Hugh, John and Robert. The only households held by Thompsons named William were in Stroan Townland, Derrykeighan and Balnalube Townland, Loughguile. Edward and Joseph Boyd were also residents of Stroan. Robert Thompson resided in Cool Townland, Derrykeighan.” Do any list members know the families for any of these Boyd families? Thank you Mike Boyd

    3. I have been to Franklin, VT and bought the Town History and in fact the Hefflin family is mentioned as are the Gladdens.  Lake Carmi is a beautiful Lake in the valley and is one mile from the Canadian border in fact they have a border crossing there.  Cyrena was born in Dunham Quebec.  One of the children of Silas and Polly became a DR and married a Gladden and Levi Hefflin served as a LT in the Civil War and intend to get his war records when I can afford or can get to Waltham Vital records.  I have pictures of the gravesites of Silas, Polly Varnum and Suzanne Hefflin in Maple Grove Corner cemetery. I believe they came to VT through land grants by Chittenden.  Haven't gotten into those land records. Just a mystery waiting to be solved by finding another piece I haven't yet accessed. 3. Members in the website attached to - look at page 3, this the Mary Boyd might come from the Parish of Derrykeighan. I do not have any Boyd families that lived in this Parish in 1803, so this Mary Boyd might be a part of your family. Mike Boyd -----Original Message----- From: Perry Streeter Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 2014 10:51 PM To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected] ; Sharon (Stephens) Kiser Subject: re: Daniel A. Boyd and Jane White of Co. antrim > + THOMPSON, McHATTON, MULLEN Mike: I think that there was probably some tie of kinship between Daniel & Jane (White) Boyd of Andover, Allegany County, New York and my great-great-grandmother, Mary (Boyd) (Thompson) (McHatton) Mullen of Greenwood, Steuben County, New York. Although the towns of Andover and Greenwood lie in different counties, they border each other. More importantly, my grandfather (Mary's grandson) recalled that Mary's descendants frequently socialized with Daniel's descendants. For more information on the elusive and many-times-married Mary which includes some information on Daniel Boyd and his family, please see... http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~streeter/thompson.pdf Thanks again for your past help in attempting to identify Mary's origins. If anyone ever identifies Daniel's specific origins that may yield "new" information towards identifying Mary's. Mary's branch on the family tree is the shortest and sparsest. Please tell me more about "the Boyd family that went to Abbeville County, SC before 1777." Boyd and Jane White of Co. antrim To: [email protected]> Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Recently I was given a Boyd family of County Antrim that started with Daniel A. BOYD b. 23 Feb 1799, County Antrim, N. Ireland d. 18 May 1878, Andover, Allegany, New York ado. & Jane WHITE b. 27 Jan 1801, County Antrim, N. Ireland d. 18 Feb 1881, Andover, Allegany, New York ado. m. Daniel BOYD b. 12 Aug 1844, County Antrim, N. Ireland d. 8 Jan 1894, Andover, Allegany, NY ado. & Jennie Clisdell WHITE b. 4 Aug 1849, South Howard, Steuben, New York d. 8 Jan 1900, Andover, Allegany Co, NY ado. m. 8 Oct 1868, NY There was no location within County Antrim given or know for this family. Do any members know of this Boyd and White family? I would also assume that Daniel Boyd, the son, from his date of birth, was the younger half of this family. This families DNA matches a Boyd family that went to Abbeville County, SC before 1777. Thank you Mike Boyd Brisbane, Aust.
