Southern Trails is a list for people studying the migration routes our ancestors took as they populated and relocated in the US South. Although settling new areas was not an easy thing to do for a lot of our forefathers, they certainly moved around a lot. A group of friends and relatives would pull up sticks and head for new territory, sometimes several times in one lifetime. My ideas for this list is that we will discuss the migration routes themselves, how people moved, why they moved, and try to identify the groups of people who took these routes.
