Hold on a minute before ya'll put up the Tenn. Bolling/Bowling stuff--- I have an "out-of-the-blue Bolling" mystery for you! Samuel Bolling/Bowling born 1778 in NC, married to Elizabeth born in SC/NC. Their children were born in Tenn. (I believe they are the family listed in Monroe co. 1835 census but haven't got proof yet.) By 1850 the family is in Carroll Co. Ga. Their son Nathaniel Bowling/Bolling is living next door to Sam and Elizabeth with his wife (Hanna) Missouri and those of their children born to that date. 1860 Carroll Co. Ga. the family is still there. By 1870 Nathaniel and Missouri are in Jackson Co. Ala. I assume Samuel and Elizabeth are deceased. Most of the siblings of Nathaniel went to La., OK, and Tex. By 1880 Samuel Bowling/Bolling(son of Nathaniel and Missouri) is with wife Pininah Susan Shaddix in Talladega Co... Ala. Pininah dies in c. 1884 as the family is removing to OK. My grandfather was the baby. Samuel either dies shortly after Pininah or not too long after arriving in Tex. Would love to be able to tie Samuel Bowling/Bolling b. 1778, in to where ever he belongs!
