Hi, In response to Ken's question about who the parents of Mary Peasants Bolling were: GRANDPARENTS: John Bolling, b. 6 Jan.,1756, Halifax (part that later became Pittsylvania, and still later Henry) Co., VA, d. 17 June 1835, Sullivan Co., Tenn., buried Bolling Family Cemetery, Sullivan Co., TN. Married Dec. 25, 1977, Charlotte Co., VA to Mary Tarpley. Mary was born 21 March 1760, Lunenburg (part that later became Charlotte) Co., VA; died 5 April 1836, Sullivan Co., TN. She is also buried in the Bolling Family Cemetery, Sullivan Co., TN. (The story is that John and Mary married at Christmas just before the Tarpleys left for South Carolina). The PARENTS of Mary Pleasants Bolling were John Tarpley Bolling, often called John, Jr. and Mary Pleasants, his wife. John Tarpley Bolling was born in Henry Co, Virginia on Dec 10, 1778. John Tarpley Bolling and Mary Pleasants were married in South Carolina on Jan. 3, 1798. Mary Pleasants was born in Halifax County, VA, July 6, 1782. Both John Tarpley and Mary died in Franklin County, Alabama. He died August 12, 1849 and she died the 26 day of Dec. in 1848. About 1830 they moved from Sullivan County, TN to Franklin County, Alabama. Mary Pleasants Bolling was born April 6, 1799 in Sullivan County, TN and died Dec. 23, 1868 in Franklin County, Alabama. She married April 30, 1818 (in the same wedding ceremony with her twin brother) Hiram Weatherbee. He was her 1st cousin, once removed, and also her 2nd cousin, once removed. He was born Jan. 5, 1800 in Sullivan County, TN. He died June 10, 1880 in Franklin County, Alabama. Both are buried in the Bolling Family Cemetery, Franklin Co., Alabama. Mary's twin brother was James Pleasants Bolling. Other siblings were: Marvin Pleasants Bolling, Joseph Pleasants Bolling, William Plesants Bolling, Robert Pleasants Bolling, John Pleasants Bolling, Sarah Pleasants Bolling, Anne Pleasants Bolling (twin of Sarah), Andrew Pleasans Bolling, Martha Meotaka Pleasants Bolling, Ara Amelia Pleasants Bolling, and Elizabeth Pleasants Bolling.
