Hi all, I have to wonder if someone ought to ask for sources for this sort of information. It's odd we don't. Can someone tell me if the Powhatan (tribe) and the Pamunkeys were the same people? Did anyone ask? (Do you know ?) Virgina laws were extended to the descendants of Pocahontas as white, but what about the others? (no put down, but a search for the truth) We had a rocky history (who didn't), but I think we ought to quote sources, dates of laws, where you found this , etc. Even if history is disagreed with, the facts are facts, right or wrong. Let's tell it the way it was. So call for documentation, that's what the list is trying to do. And for those who might be searching for facts, try Helen Roundtrees book, Pocahontas' People, 1940s, not in hand at the time. Well done up, lots of documentation, English and American records.
