    3. Hi all, I am researching the many Bollings of Virginia. Over the years many people have written on these families, and there is strong evidence some of these have been misresearched. It may be that some of you have the evidence in the forms of old letters, bibles, or other material which will help all of us to get these right, once and for all. Bolling documentation is poor, and much misinformation has been written about the Bollings of the Powhatan/Rolfe connections. An effort to find the original sources for much of this information has turned up the fact that Judge Robertson, brother of Wyndham Robertson, a mover and shaker of the book Pocahonta's Descendants, heard voices, and this is documented. For example, he was told by God in a clear voice in old bible words to write about Pocahontas' Descendants. His words. (And he did!, It is a real mess. There is evidence this Holy War Bolling descendant may have been involved in digging out graves, and destroying tombstones.) We can not depend on the Judge Robertsons to get our genealogy together. Oddly, I have found information that the Mr. Robert Bolling, who he wrote of, had no rank, nor a title, in the Royal Colony of Virginia, and may have been a de Bolling. Even his father in law called him Mr. Robert Bolling, in his will. So much of this genealogy may have been made up. There is firm evidence a family of Bolling, using the names Rolfe, Powhatan, and Metoaka, were in Virginia, in the same time frame. This family lived, raised families, left records, and died, but are told they are not related because the crazy Judge said so. I take the position that no one has the right answers, or the wrong ones. I even study the crazy Judges book. I study every thing I can find. This has made a few people angry, that I would dare question what they have been told. I hope to not run into people like that, as I have no desire to make them angry, and will avoid them if I can. Alsos there is a lot of different information floating about; I find that a James Bolling, born in 1756, is said to have married two different females; Sallie Blevins, and Letitia Gillespie. I have found older records which says that there were two James Bollings, each born in 1756. One the son of Benjamin Bolling, born in 1734, a Blue Bolling, and James the son of John b 1700, also a Blue Bolling. I take the position that someone may have bible records to prove who James married, or other evidence. I for one would love get proof and move on. One idea which might get us all on the same project, might be to list the known sources of information, and read these. It would clear a lot of this up. So far, the most reliable information source came in via Judge Zelma Price's records. Much of her information I have been able to confirm, but I have not completed this project. I am looking for two things, peace and the truth. I hope they are one and the same. Your friend, Ken Poole
