I knew of the STITHS but had followed Ann's brother Drury. Originally I was told that Rebecca BOLLING was the daughter of Samuel THOMPSON and Rhoda BOLLING. I wondered why she carried her mother's name but have since found out that Samuel and Rhoda weren't married until Rebecca was 16. I believe that Rebecca's parents are probably ? Bolling and Rhoda ?. This is the information I received on Elizabeth Fleming: An interesting example of the influence of Jordans is the law in early Virginia, North Carolina and other parts of the south that disallowed any marriage between Europeans and Indians unless the Indian was a descendant of Pocahantas. This exception to the law was probably insisted upon by Samuel's (born 1578) great great grandson Samuel born 1678, who was a member of the House of Burgess during the time the law was enacted. It was this Samuel that married Elizabeth Flemming who was Pocahantas' great granddaughter. Both Elizabeth and Samuel were Quakers, who even at that early time held very liberal ideas. Elizabeth was the daughter of Col. Fleming and Susannah Tarleton. Do you know of a home page or web site that shows the descendants of Pocahontas? What I have now is: 1 John Rolfe b May 1585 d March 1621/22 m 1614 +Pocahontas b abt 1593 d March 1616/17 2 Thomas Rolfe Jan 1613/14 d aft 1675 m + Jane Poythress 3 John b 1672 3 Jane b 1674 d bef 1713 m bef 1712 + Robert Bolling b 4 Jane Bolling abt 1712 + William Gay (2nd wife of Robert Bolling) Anne Stith b 4 Ann Bolling b 1713 + John Hall b 1709 5 Lucy Hall b 1736 d Feb 1815 + Richard Stith b Sept 1727 d Nov 1802 m Dec 1756 6 Lucy Stith b March 1761 d June 1802 m June 1780 + William Jordan Thank you for your information.
