I am researching a set of allied families that lived in the Jackson/Clay County area before the Civil War, then after 1865 moved on to Franklin County, IL, then to Johnson County TX. I have a fair amount of info on the McCarley line (came from Jackson County, AL before moving to TN) and the Flatt line.
